Sea Dogs Mothers Day 5K

Great Day! Great Times for Meg, Pete, and me, as well as many other people I talked with. Here's the link for the race results. I finished in 24:25, Meg in 26:53. Go to Pete's blog Transitions and Motivations to see my whining comment.
Meg wants to run longer races and I agreed to do it. She's found a 10K on June 16th here.

In retrospect, I agree with your assessment regarding the course. Without getting too technical, when I compare HR data and pace with track workouts and today's session on the Back Cove, it confirms how slowly that course runs and constant effort. The downhill at the start of mile 3 is too steep to be very useful and it's follwed by a tough up again. I was shattered after that and couldn't pick it up even in the ballpark. Let's find a flat, fast course!

I pulled out my race calendar to look for one. Next Sunday there's a XC race 3M in Newburyport. Hmm that won't be flat or fast. Then I realized the next week is your Pineland farms trails challenge, which means you wouldn't want to race again for a couple weeks most likely. Out on June 10 there's the Battle of Bunker Hill RR. Hmm that won't be flat or fast, and right around then you're gone, right?
The 16th is the Mt. Washington RR. Why is my eye being drawn to the exact opposite of what we're looking for?
Is Back Cove flat and fast enough? How about the Wednesday Night race series some week?
